Grand Canyon Adventure

Average trip length: 40 hours

Take your students on an educational field trip to the Grand Canyon! Visit one of the 7 natural wonders and learn how this massive canyon was formed. As we make our way up north, we will stop to view the unique waters at Montezuma Well. Your Project Exploration instructor will teach you about this limestone sinkhole and guide you down to the irrigation system used by the Sinagua who once inhabited the area. Choose to spend your afternoon visiting the impressive ruins at Walnut Canyon or on an open-air bus tour through Bearizona Wildlife Park. After dinner in Flagstaff, we will visit Lowell Observatory before spending a restful night in a Flagstaff hotel.

Enjoy a continental breakfast at the hotel before we hop on the motor coach and head to the infamous Grand Canyon. Arriving at Bright Angel Lodge, we will stop briefly to view the Hopi House and El Tovar as we begin our journey down the Trail of Time. Along this paved trail are rock samples portraying each layer of the canyon from 6 billion years ago to present day. With each meter, we travel one million years in time!

Continue your Grand Canyon journey by visiting the Desert View Watchtower or take your students to tour the ruins at Wupatki National Monument and walk the landscape of Sunset Crater Volcano. After a fast food dinner, we will drive safely back to school.
