This one-night, two day trip, finds us traveling through the morning to arrive at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, AZ. After a picnic lunch we travel to world famous Meteor Crater impact site and museum, near Winslow. After a full day studying geology and archaeology at Sunset Crater and Wupatki National Monument, we will retire to a motel in Flagstaff. The second day we travel to the Grand Canyon to view the IMAX movie, “Hidden Secrets of the Grand Canyon.” After a brief stop for souvenir shopping we head to Desert View overlook with an inspiring view of one of the natural wonders of the world. With a guided nature hike along the South Rim we learn more about the local flora and fauna, geology, and history of this treasure of the southwest.
